GCDS GVH

Greenwich Country Day School's Girls Varsity Ice Hockey team is a varsity high school program that competes in the NEPSAC (New England Prep School Athletic Conference) and the FAA.

Grades

GCDS GVH is a High School Varsity hockey program with players from 8th-12th grade.

When

Our season begins November 15th and ends in March.

Where

Our Home rinks include Chelsea Piers Connecticut and Greenwich Skating Club.

Next season we will make home in brand new WINGS ARENA in Stamford, CT

Practices

Practices will be held at Chelsea Piers CT and Greenwich Skating club. We will practice 4-5x a week and will include off ice training, lifts, mental performance coaching, and film sessions in addition to on ice practices.

Games

We will play between 2-3 games a week during the peak of season.

We will compete in two NEPSAC tournaments this season, Exeter's and Newton Country Day School's tournaments.

Jerseys

Our girls are given 3 jerseys to rep as a member of GCDS GVH. An Orange, a Black, and a White jersey. Practice jerseys will be provided

Who are some of the teams GCDS plays against?

We will play against various NEPSAC teams such as Canterbury, Hotchkiss, Frederick Gunn School, Millbrook, NMH, Middlesex, Portledge, Greenwich Academy, and many others.

We will also play against local schools such as Greenwich Academy, Greenwich High School, Sacred Heart, and Rye Country Day School

How is GCDS different than playing at a boarding school?

GCDS is proud to offer the opportunity to play in the NEPSAC (the historic and top tier league that all of the boarding schools compete in) while also allowing you the opportunity to stay at home with your family and friends. We have all of the same resources as boarding schools including top of the line equipment, apparel, travel accommodations, weight room and training facilities.
